Cristiano Ronaldo has just received the award for the top scorer of national teams at the Quinas de Ouro 2022 gala that is taking place in Portugal!

Cristiano has 117 goals, he has passed and Ali Daei has scored well (109)… And best of all, he's still playing and will still play a lot, he'll still score a lot more. He guaranteed his presence at this World Cup and the next European Championship in his speech when he received this award.

This was CR7's speech:

“For me it is obviously an honor to receive an award of this dimension. Being the team's all-time top scorer, I never thought that one day I could reach him. To thank all those who have been important in my career, from the first teams I played to until today, to the national team.

It has been a long journey, but I would like to take the opportunity to say that my journey is not over yet. They'll still take a little more cargo from Cris.

And to thank the federation, I think it has done an extraordinary job, just look at the facilities we have, the conditions, futsal, all other modalities, the under-21, the youth teams, the women's sport that is getting better, I think the federation has done an excellent job and I hope it continues, I hope to be part of the federation for a few more years too.

And it's a pride, I still feel motivated, I feel that my ambition is still up there, I'm in a team with many young players with an extraordinary future and obviously I want to be part, still, in this World Cup, and in the next Eurocup Also, I'll take over now hahaha, and I'm happy, I'll confess that I already missed receiving an award hahaha.

And it is with pride that I see here guys that I played, guys that I will continue to play, ex-players… and even Diogo jokes with me and says ‘whew, you played with everyone, it’s really crap’ and it’s true.
