This was the last trip that we made the 2 of us since our daughter was on her way.
We stayed in Alvor as it was closer to the kitesurfing spots. Overall it was a very nice experience even though we didn't enjoy the sea at all. We found the water incredibly cold for summer (approx 17 degrees).
Nightlife is definitely much better in Lagos although we didn't regret staying in the quieter Alvor.
Kitesurfing was not the best. Very gusty conditions every day and totally dependent on the tides. The approach was not easy due to long walking or due to tidal changes that would completely hide the walking path.
