While walking East of Modern Street, at the intersection with Chikuzengawa Street, Kiryu will hear a dog whining, go down the stairs to the path along the river to find a familiar scene with some thugs attacking a dog and a young girl protecting it.
Kiryu will step in and you'll have to take out the three losers, after that the girl will introduce herself as Haruka, and eventually reveal that she fled from home after an argument with her stepfather.
Kiryu will offer to help by going to get the father who is at Café Portugal, which is marked as "Omusubi Mura" on the map, in Nagasu Boulevard. Head there and talk to the man in front, you'll automatically return to the riverside where the thugs will be back in greater numbers! Thankfully, Haruka's Father fights alongside you, so take the opportunity to do some team Heat Actions!

In addition to a warm feeling and EXP, this substory will reward you with a 1-2-3 Gum and Beads of Good Fortune.
