Just a short two-hour drive from Porto is the Douro Valley, one of the most beautiful wine regions in the world and absolutely perfect for a day trip!

While in the Douro Valley we visited D’Origem to try their delicious olive oil before heading onto Quinta do Crasto, a vineyard that's been producing world-class wines since 1615!

The Douro Valley is actually the oldest demarcated wine region in the world and people have been producing wine here for the last 2,000 years. This makes it a must-see on any trip to Porto and the one thing that we were most looking forward to doing on our weekend away!

It might've had something to do with all the wine we’d drunk throughout the day or it might've been the golden sunset that we saw while we were there, but we couldn’t imagine a more beautiful setting to go wine tasting than the Douro Valley. And yes, that infinity pool really is real!
