Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa assisted in the rescue of two young girls at a beach in southern Portugal, Saturday, August 15.

The Portuguese president is on a work holiday tour, going to all the regions of his country to show his support for the tourism sector amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Rebelo de Sousa is known as an avid beachgoer and man of the people, often seen in stores chatting with people or by himself on a beach near his home. (AP)
