There is growing recognition that socio-economic status as a ground of discrimination should be included in our Equality Legislation across Ireland and the UK.

Recently we sat down with Protect Accent Ambassador who shares the time where he was overlooked for a graduate programme due to his Inner City accent and socio-economic background.

While Paul did have the correspondente that clearly showed he was discriminated against, he could not lodge a equality complaint as like in the UK socio-economic status which includes accent is still not a protected ground.
